Data structures through OOP, files, and exceptions into Flask and SQLite, with applied small projects.
This path is the groundwork layer. It starts with variables, collections, and functions — the official Python tutorial covers exactly this sequence — then adds exception handling and file I/O so programs fail predictably and persist data. Object-oriented design, generators, and decorators come next, extending how learners structure larger programs.
Regular expressions, JSON, and CSV handling broaden input and output options. Virtual environments keep project dependencies isolated before SQLite and Flask introduce persistence and a minimal web layer. NumPy, Pandas, and Matplotlib are included for data-oriented work. Representative tasks from the outline: a basic calculator, a file-based contact book, a Flask and SQLite to-do list, and a weather API exercise.
Suggested practice (grounded in the official Python tutorial's sections on functions, files, and exception handling): extend the contact book to read and write entries with the built-in open() function, use dict-based records with basic field checks such as checking that a name and phone field are present, and wrap file operations in try/except so a missing or malformed file is reported rather than crashing. This combines three syllabus modules — functions, files, and exceptions — in one small program, without requiring a single regex to validate every contact field.
